Workshops: Erasmus+ Practical Experience Sharing and Financial Management

NEO Georgia hosted workshops at the Biltmore Hotel. LIFESTRAND was presented as a success story by coordinator Ia Avaliani.

The event promoted peer learning, dissemination, and Erasmus+ visibility at the national level.

Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) continues its first aid training. This time, the academy's staff and students visited the primary school “Mzeka” in the city of Akhaltsikhe.

Knowledge of basic first aid skills is necessary not only for medical personnel but for everyone. What should we know, and how should we behave in a critical situation?

These are the questions that TMA students answered, and gave the school students the opportunity to have a hands-on practice session on mannequins themselves.

The workshop was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ Institutional Development Project - “LIFESTRAND”. The project unites 9 universities from Georgia, Ukraine, Spain and Portugal and was created, planned and is being implemented directly under the coordination of TMA.

Knowledge of first aid is important in saving people's lives. The TMA team continues the series of first aid workshops, this time at IB Mthiebi School.

Students practiced procedures on manikins and learned about TMA’s academic programs, funding, and extracurricular activities.

The workshop was part of Erasmus+ LIFESTRAND, coordinated by TMA, which trains first aid skills for staff, students, and vulnerable populations in Georgia and Ukraine.

The Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) team visited Cervantes Gymnasium AIA-GESS for a first aid workshop.

Students and teachers learned how to provide first aid at the pre-hospital level and practiced skills on site.

“It was our long-standing dream to implement the practical part along with theoretical knowledge,” said Tinatin Laghidze, biology and natural science teacher. As a result, a first aid club was established at the school.

The event was held within Erasmus+ LIFESTRAND, coordinated by TMA.

TMA conducted a first aid workshop hosted by Rustavi’s Mediathek.

Topics included victim assessment, CPR, and trauma management at the pre-hospital level. Participants gained hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge.

Graduating high school students also received information about TMA's academic and exchange programs.

They participated in the ERASMUS+ LIFESTRAND training at the TNMU Simulation Training Center.

Covered AED use, asphyxiation aid, unconsciousness, critical bleeding control, trauma care, and limb immobilization.

The training was part of Erasmus+ LIFESTRAND, coordinated by TMA, aimed at teaching first aid skills to vulnerable populations in Georgia and Ukraine.

First aid is an essential life skill that everyone should know. For this purpose, on October 9, 2024, training was conducted for the employees of the Academy's administration, with the participation of TMA students, covering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The training was part of the Erasmus+ institutional development project LIFESTRAND, coordinated by TMA. The goal of the project is to teach first aid skills to vulnerable populations living in areas at high risk of militaristic conflict (Georgia, Ukraine) who have suffered due to Russian occupation and military aggression.

The LIFESTRAND project was created, planned, and implemented directly under the coordination of TMA, uniting nine universities in Georgia, Ukraine, Spain, and Portugal.

TMA students and staff conducted first aid training for residents of Bakuriani within the Erasmus+ project LIFESTRAND.

Topics included victim assessment, CPR, trauma management, immobilization, and bleeding control. Locals had the chance to practice in simulations.

Students from multiple Georgian universities also participated.

“As a medical student, it is very crucial for me to study first aid management as it is the first step in handling multi-trauma accidents,” said TMA student Rishu Shah.

The event raised awareness of first aid and promoted safer communities in Georgia.
